France stocks mixed at close of trade; CAC 40 down 0.01%

Investing.com – France stocks were mixed after the close on Friday, as gains in the Financials, Utilities and Industrials sectors led shares higher while losses in the Healthcare, Technology and Oil & Gas sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 declined 0.01%, while the SBF 120 index added 0.57%.

The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were L’Oreal SA (EPA:OREP), which rose 5.04% or 21.35 points to trade at 444.95 at the close. Meanwhile, Sanofi SA (EPA:SASY) added 1.95% or 1.66 points to end at 86.89 and Orange SA (EPA:ORAN) was up 1.64% or 0.18 points to 10.86 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Edenred SA (EPA:EDEN), which fell 6.88% or 3.23 points to trade at 43.71 at the close. Schneider Electric SE (EPA:SCHN) declined 3.23% or 6.95 points to end at 208.40 and STMicroelectronics NV (EPA:STMPA) was down 2.30% or 0.87 points to 36.71.

The top performers on the SBF 120 were L’Oreal SA (EPA:OREP) which rose 5.04% to 444.95, Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) which was up 4.07% to settle at 1.85 and Mercialys SA (EPA:MERY) which gained 3.81% to close at 10.89.

The worst performers were Ipsos (EPA:ISOS) which was down 7.81% to 61.40 in late trade, Edenred SA (EPA:EDEN) which lost 6.88% to settle at 43.71 and Vusiongroup SA (EPA:VU) which was down 6.67% to 124.50 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 276 to 213 and 113 ended unchanged.

The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.

Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.45% or 10.85 to $2,408.85 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 0.42% or 0.35 to hit $83.08 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 0.22% or 0.19 to trade at $87.30 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.13% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.44% to 0.86.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.08% at 105.89.
