France stocks higher at close of trade; CAC 40 up 0.81%

Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Financials, Oil & Gas and Healthcare sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 added 0.81%, while the SBF 120 index added 0.26%.

The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Accor SA (EPA:ACCP), which rose 2.76% or 1.10 points to trade at 40.95 at the close. Meanwhile, Publicis Groupe SA (EPA:PUBP) added 2.50% or 2.55 points to end at 104.45 and Schneider Electric SE (EPA:SCHN) was up 2.22% or 4.55 points to 209.15 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT), which fell 2.65% or 0.64 points to trade at 23.47 at the close. Danone SA (EPA:DANO) declined 0.57% or 0.34 points to end at 59.60 and Orange SA (EPA:ORAN) was down 0.14% or 0.02 points to 11.04.

The top performers on the SBF 120 were Sartorius Stedim Biotech SA (EPA:STDM) which rose 6.21% to 208.70, Vusiongroup SA (EPA:VU) which was up 5.16% to settle at 128.40 and SCOR SE (EPA:SCOR) which gained 3.66% to close at 30.60.

The worst performers were Eutelsat Communications SA (EPA:ETL) which was down 2.75% to 3.75 in late trade, ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) which lost 2.65% to settle at 23.47 and Valeo SA (EPA:VLOF) which was down 2.33% to 12.18 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 305 to 194 and 103 ended unchanged.

Shares in Publicis Groupe SA (EPA:PUBP) rose to all time highs; rising 2.50% or 2.55 to 104.45.

Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.42% or 9.75 to $2,336.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 1.25% or 1.02 to hit $82.92 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 1.11% or 0.97 to trade at $87.97 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.38% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.30% to 0.86.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.30% at 105.60.
